VP/Director – Freedom Capital Markets

About This Role

In December of 2020 Prime Executions, Inc. was acquired by Freedom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: FRHC), a U.S. financial services holding company conducting securities brokerage, investment counseling, investment banking, underwriting and banking services through its subsidiaries. Through Prime Executions, FRHC is now expanding its product offerings for clients to better access the public and private capital markets in the US. This new division, Freedom Capital Markets (FCM), will operate under Prime Executions and will service the needs of FRHC’s clients by primarily acting as a selling group member to resell securities syndicated by a lead underwriter or syndicate group. 

Job Responsibilities

As Vice President / Director of Freedom Capital Markets you will support senior bankers’ efforts by engaging with institutional investors – oftentimes as the day-to-day contact – and working with junior bankers to execute on client needs and expectations. You will be a team member of the capital markets deal team with a focus on maximizing sector penetration and profitability by managing and executing selling group, syndicate, and underwriting transactions. In this versatile role, you will need the skill set of a senior banker and a junior banker by being able to assist FCM strategically execute and navigate the syndicate and selling group experience as well as help bring in new clients to the firm. Other job responsibilities may be as follows: 

  • Build and maintain relationships with client senior executives. Actively develop, manage, and participate in firm’s business development and marketing initiatives
  • Manage the transaction process from start to finish as the leader of a deal team; always exceeding client expectations
  • Assist with new business pitches alongside Managing Directors
  • At times, assist with day-to-day deliverable and presentation development; and implementing ways to position FCM in the best way possible to syndicate/selling and client groups
  • Monitor client, industry, and regulatory agencies for potential changes that may affect client portfolio and business needs
  • Understand the complexity of transactions and related risks (credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.)
  • Execute extensive financial and valuation/analyses for complex deals
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, research, and analysis efforts. Suggest innovative approaches to each and proactively identify deal issues and potential solutions
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage expectations of senior bankers
  • Liaise between senior bankers at FCM and client group for relevant questions, comments and deal-related matters
  • Consistently exceed client expectations
  • Always acting as the firm’s backstop when sending materials/deliverables to clients
  • Work alongside the Compliance team to ensure all FCM activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Enhance work processes in a quickly growing group as every individual has the power to shape the future of FCM

Qualifications

  • Prior investment banking experience (7+ years)
  • FINRA Licenses: Series 7, 24 (or willing to obtain), 63, & 79
  • Bachelor’s Degree and excellent academic credentials required.
  • MBA / CFA preferred, but not required
  • Intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Prior work experience with financial/market data or analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg) a plus
  • Passion for, and solid understanding of global capital markets including: IPOs, secondary offerings, after-money-transactions, SPACs, bond issues, syndicated loans, structured finance, and project finance
  • Knowledge of institutional investor landscape and ability to customize investor targets for specific situations
  • Superb project management skills and the commitment to satisfying all customer (internal/external) demands – big or small – in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with little to no oversight; yet able to keep all stakeholders informed of project progress and key focus areas
